Graham believes that the most important question in addiction treatment is rarely about the substance. It’s about what the substance was doing for the person and what pain it was quieting, what emptiness it was filling, what intolerable feeling it made temporarily bearable. That orientation shapes everything about how he leads clinical care at Royal Recovery.

Graham earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Puget Sound and his master’s in clinical psychology from Antioch University, Santa Barbara, a program with deep roots in humanistic and depth psychology, the tradition that takes the inner life seriously. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

In practice, Graham works from the conviction that recovery isn’t just about stopping a behavior. It’s about understanding the life that made that behavior make sense and building something sturdy enough to replace it.
