Intensive Addiction Treatment

Addiction is a disease that affects both the brain and behavior. It’s actually one of the most common mental illnesses in the U.S., affecting millions of Americans every day. However, addiction can look different depending on what stage the person is in.

For example, some people are able to function in their day to day lives but are dependent on drugs or alcohol. Others have severe addictions that have taken complete control of their lives. Many factors affect how severe an addiction is, including the type of drug being abused, how long it has been abused and the presence of a mental health disorder.

If you or a loved one is struggling with a severe addiction, intensive addiction treatment will probably be necessary. These programs have the staff, medications and therapeutic resources to care for people who are deep into their addiction. Let’s explore more on this program and what you can expect from Royal Recovery.

What is Intensive Addiction Treatment? How Does it Differ from Other Programs?

Intensive programs are similar to inpatient or residential treatment because they require you to live at the facility for a period of time, usually around 30 days or so. Treatment is individualized to your needs and based on the latest research findings.

Other treatment facilities only provide care on an outpatient basis and practice experiential techniques. While there is nothing wrong with this approach, it’s best for people who have already received some treatment but need continued support to stay clean.

Intensive addiction treatment programs also offer many different types of treatment such as cognitive behavioral therapy, relapse prevention, 12-steps, spiritual support, relaxation therapies and medications. These therapies can be used to treat the addiction as well as any underlying mental health disorders.

Structured, Full Day Programs at Royal Recovery

Royal Recovery provides each client with the compassion, support and understanding they deserve. Our staff recognizes that addiction is not a choice. It can happen to anyone, and unless addicts receive the proper intervention and support, the disease is highly progressive. This is why we’ve built an intensive program that our clients enjoy participating in.

Rather than receiving intensive care in a hospital-like setting, all treatment services are delivered in our luxury residential property in Porter Ranch, CA. We have shared and private bedrooms available, as well as relaxing common areas, a modern kitchen and bathrooms and an outdoor area that includes a swimming pool, jacuzzi and pergola.

We believe that when people have a comfortable, private setting to receive care in, they’re more likely to relax, trust the process and engage in their treatment. We also find that our clients tend to open up easier when they are removed from their current environment and freed from triggers and distractions.

Here is what you can expect from our structured, full day program:

  • Morning meditation and mindfulness
  • Addiction group therapy
  • Addiction education
  • AA or NA meetings
  • Coping skills groups
  • Nutritional guidance
  • Recreational therapy
  • Evening programs
  • Alumni meetings

Continuing Care Following an Intensive Program

Royal Recovery provides residential rehabilitation services that are individualized to each client’s needs. You can reside in our facility for as long as you need to, though most clients complete our program in about three months. However, it’s important to know that our program does not mark the end of treatment. Instead, an intensive program like ours is the first step in the recovery process.

Following intensive addiction treatment, you will need continuing care. You can get this in many forms, such as 12-step groups, outpatient rehab or therapy. Royal Recovery’s team can help you select the appropriate follow-up care for when you return home and transition to everyday living. This will help you stay on track with your recovery goals.
